Allow the sterling engine to sit on top of the cup for about 30 seconds. During this time, the engine will start to absorb the heat from the boiling water. After the waiting period, use your finger to flick or spin the wheel of the engine gently. The initial spin will help kickstart the engine's motion. As the engine begins to move, carefully observe its back-and-forth motion. The heat energy from the boiling water causes the engine to run, converting thermal energy into mechanical work. This sterling engine requires a minimum temperature difference of 30 degrees Celsius to operate, and the greater the temperature difference between the top and bottom plates, the higher the RPM you will get.
